What we collect
This site collects personal information in one place: the catering quote form. That is your name, phone number, email address, the date of your event, how many people are coming, the meat you are thinking of, and whatever you write in the "Anything else" box. The IP address your request came from is recorded with it.
You do not have to use the form. You are welcome to call us at (315) 531-8700 instead, and nothing is recorded on this site when you do.
What happens to it
Your request is emailed to The BBQ Shack so we can reply to you and put a price together. The email is sent through Postmark, a service that delivers email on our behalf.
A copy of each request is stored with our website host for up to one year, so that a request is never lost if an email fails to arrive. It is then deleted automatically.
We do not sell it, and we do not share it with anyone outside the people who work on your event and the services named on this page.
Hosting
This website is hosted by Cloudflare, and the quote form is handled on Cloudflare's servers. Like any web host, Cloudflare records routine request information such as IP addresses for security and reliability.
Other services this site loads
Google Fonts. The typefaces on this site are loaded from Google's servers on every page, so your browser connects to Google, which receives your IP address and basic browser details.
Google Maps. The map on each page is provided by Google. When it loads, your browser connects to Google, which receives your IP address and may set its own cookies. That is covered by Google's privacy policy, and we do not control those cookies.
Cookies
This site sets one cookie of its own, to remember your analytics choice. Our analytics run without cookies. There is no advertising, no cross-site tracking and no social media pixel anywhere on this site. The Google map above is the one exception we do not control.

Analytics
When you first visit, we ask whether you are happy for us to use analytics. If you decline, or if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, nothing is loaded and we remember only your choice.
Once you accept, we use Matomo to see which pages people find useful. It runs without cookies, on a server at matomo.whitecapdata.com operated by WhiteCap Data, who build and look after this website. The information is not sent to Google or to any advertising network.
It records the pages you view, the website you arrived from, your browser and device, and an approximate location such as region. Before anything is stored, the last two bytes of your IP address are masked, and the query part of the address you arrived from is stripped off. Individual visit records are deleted after 90 days. Only the totals, such as how many people viewed the menu in a month, are kept longer, for 25 months.
There are no heatmaps and no session recordings on this site. If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, Matomo records nothing, even if you accept.
Changing your mind
You can withdraw consent for analytics at any time: open your cookie choices and choose Decline. Analytics stop from the next page you open. You can also clear this site's cookies in your browser settings.
